Dynojet to attend Rally on the Rocks

Written by:

We’re loading up the UTV Dyno Trailer and our 2016 Polaris RZR xp1000 Turbo to hit the trails at Rally on the Rocks. Rally on the Rocks is one of the biggest events of the year in Moab where UTV owners from around the country join together and hit some of the most awe-inspiring trails. Each day there are different trail options to choose from depending on your vehicle build and driving skills. Don’t be fooled by the beauty, the trails are tough and they will test your driving and car abilities. Their website states “8 Rating – A winch and/or tow strap is desirable. Excellent driving skills required. Roll over possibilities exist. 9 Rating – Extreme and beyond. Multiple large climbs, descents and off camber situations. 10 – Let the carnage begin! Rollovers VERY likely. Good spotting, experienced drivers with modified machines are required as even they will be tested.” Our RZR has stock suspension, a Trinity Exhaust, and is tuned with our Power Vision CX, so we won’t being doing anything too crazy, but it will be interesting to see our tunes perform in the more slower climbing sections, using left foot braking, and if we feel the desire to we can flash a different tune, or even make adjustments to the tune file. If you have any questions about our products or tunes you are running feel free to come on by our booth/dyno trailer. I will be heading up there with Matt and Chuck to help man the booths, hit the trails, and capture the UTV madness with my camera. Stay tuned on our blog or social media for photos and if you are at the event tag Dynojet in your photos.

Keep riding,
Kyle Chamberlain

2012 David Mann Chopperfest

Written by:

There was everything from custom Panheads to new Harley Touring bikes at this show.  Everybody was there to enjoy the show and remember the life of David Mann.

Jeff McCoy, from Motorcyle Machine in Santa Maria, CA, had his mobile dyno at the show. You could hear the sound of Harleys running on the dyno  from the other side of the show so I made sure I stopped by.

He had bikes lined up waiting to run on the dyno.

Overall, the show was great. The show is held at the Ventura County Fairgrounds which practically sits on the beach.

The weather was perfect, the live music was excellent and there was plenty of neat motorcycles to look at. If you have never been to the show, you should consider going to it next year.

Pro Street Bringing the Action to MIR

Written by:

A mid-season Orient Express Pro Street rule change, giving the nitrous bikes back some of what was taken away at the start of the year, promises to give the blue bottle crowd ammunition for revenge against the 6 second turbo onslaught that happened at Maryland International Raceway in April. So expect the wildest street tire showdown of all times when the Mickey Thompson MIRock Superbike Series reconvenes for the Fast By Gast Summer Showdown at MIR on June 2-3, 2012.

The home of the world’s first 6-second streetbike pass last October saw two turbo bikes join Ryan Schnitz and the nitrous huffing HTP Performance Suzuki Hayabusa in the exclusive 6 Second Club in April. Pro Street rookie Joey Gladstone on the DME Racing ‘Busa and two-time defending champion Rodney Williford rang up the magic number, and several other turbo bikes including Rockingham winner “No Joke” with Jeremy Teasley up top were within striking distance.

HTP Performance builder/tuner Cecil Towner is covering his bets, though, and debuting his new turbo bike at MIR with rider Lavar “Lil’ Charlie” DeLee in the saddle along with Schnitz on the nitrous ‘Busa.

Towner and Schnitz will also be returning with the brand new EFI/nitrous/Hayabusa Mickey Thompson Pro Mod combination that debuted so well in April, losing the final to surprise first time Pro Mod winner Mac McAdams.

Pro Street isn’t the only class expecting a vengeful pack of nitrous bikes. RS Motorsports owner/tuner Roger Starrette and his three nitrous Kawasaki ZX14s will be ganging up for sure on Johnny “Turbo” Dobrin’s turbo ‘Busa in DME Real Street. Dobrin’s won both races this year, and multi-time Real Street champ (and Adams Performance/RS Motorsports rider) Jeremy Teasley is pissed at seeing his checks and trophies going to someone else.

Also expect huge Trac King/APE Top Sportsman, House of Speed Crazy 8s, FBR Shop 5.60 Index, Fast By Gast Pro ET, and Brock’s Performance Street ET fields to race deep into the night along with Saturday night’s Afterdark Underground. MIR’s famous bikini contest, though, will be glistening in the bright light of day on Sunday. You won’t want to miss 6 seconds of the Fast by Gast Summer Showdown at Maryland International Raceway.

Sturgis + Dynojet + Boost = One Hot Harley

Written by:

Dynojet’s mobile dynamometer and support center was on-site at the annual motorcycle rally in Sturgis South Dakota.   We love measuring and making power, it’s in our DNA, and this year there was a particular 2010 Fatboy Lo that we wanted to show off.

Touting a Sean Ray Turbo System with stock 96 Ci pistons, CNC ported heads, SE cams, and 20 psi of boost on race gas this bike is capable of 250+ rwhp!!  The long block is all stock and this bike isn’t just a dyno queen, it’s designed and built to be ridden…..hard. The best part is that it’s seamlessly smooth, pulls like a freight train, and utilizes the stock ECM safeguards like knock protection and temp vs spark advance compensation.  At the event, the bike was run in “street trim” and burning pump gas to the tune of 140 rwhp. Pretty nice for a fairly stock H-D 96ci engine!!  Oh yeah, most importantly the EMS system is a stock Delphi ECM with a Power Vision flash, Power Commander 5-PTi with integrated 3 bar TMAP sensor, and custom high flow Delphi fuel injectors.
